UMC has made arrangements with major library vendors to provide our customers with an extensive array of standard cell and I/O libraries for their designs. Since most front-end design kits are distributed at little or no cost, our customers can conveniently choose the most suitable library according to their requirements without cost constraints. This arrangement assures efficient chip design processes and rapid time to market.

As IP has become a critical resource for today's SoCs, we have worked to provide basic SoC design building blocks as well as more complex IP that are optimized for portability and cost, developed internally and from third party partners. The IP available through UMC is optimized for reliability, reusability and cost, and are correlated to UMC's process technologies.

UMC has revolutionized the foundry industry by offering our customers comprehensive free-of-charge libraries for designs implemented with UMC's process technologies from mature nodes to leading edge processes.

IP Master

We are helping designers and system developers overcome system-on-chip (SoC) and time-to-market hurdles by providing easy access to third party IP blocks ready for integration into customer designs.
